Two parent reps are required for each class from Kindergarten to Grade 7. The following is a list of responsibilities of the Class Parent Representative:
Attend monthly meetings of the PAC from September to June (minimum 10 hours).
Nominate and vote in the executive of the PAC from the eighteen-person committee.
Participate & assist with all fund-raising events
Maintain regular contact with homeroom teacher
Maintain regular contact with class parents and provide updates.
Collect the time sheets with the records of hours worked by each family.
Contact class parents as required (E.g. Emergency school closure, etc.).
In the event of a death in the community, class parents have a special
role (please see the following
document).
Other duties as assigned.
A class parent is an important source of information and assistance for new and returning families’. Be sure to find out who the class parent is for your grade, and ask them any questions you might have.
